First General Assembly of the African Road Safety Observatory

Vias institute was invited to present the first African results at the 1st General Assembly of the African Road Safety Observatory (ARSO) in Durban (South-Africa) on 27-28 June 2019. The focus of the meeting was on data collection in African countries. UNECA, World Bank, WHO and policy makers and research institutions of 39 (!) African countries were represented.

Renault foundation sponsored data collection in 5 African countries (Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and South-Africa). The presentation by Katrien Torfs (Vias institute) showcased the scientific support that ESRA2 offer for policy makers in the participating countries.
