The field work was carried out in two waves: (1) June/July 2015 (17 countries) , and (2) November 2016 (8 additional countries).

Extension of the 1st ESRA survey in 2016

The  first edition of the ESRA survey was a great success both in terms of the cooperation between road safety institutes and the richness of the data. Hence, it may not surprise you that this first edition yielded a lot of interest in other countries, and not only within Europe! For that reason, we have decided to launch a second wave of the survey in the autumn of 2016. Eight new countries joined the initiative: the USA, Canada, Australia, Israel, the Republic of Korea, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Norway. In the beginning of 2017, results of this second wave will be available on the website.

While data collection is being finalized of the first ESRA survey, preparations for the second edition have already started. Several additional countries are expected to join the initiative in 2018! Please feel free to contact us if your country or institution would like to join the second ESRA survey in 2018 (contact)
